Quick Answer: The best pickleball sling bag is the JOOLA Everyday Sling Bag ($44.95): JOOLA says it holds two paddles and plenty of balls, it has its own water bottle pocket and a hideaway carabiner for the fence, and it is 17.7 inches long. Buy the CRBN Pro Sling Bag ($59.99) for the most room and a thermal-lined paddle compartment, the Selkirk Core Line Sling Bag ($40) if you carry one paddle and want a sling that converts into a backpack, or the GAMMA Pickleball Sling Bag ($19.99) if price comes first.

A sling bag is the smallest bag that is still built around a paddle. That is its strength and its limit: USA Pickleball’s equipment standards allow a paddle up to 17 inches long, and the shortest slings in this guide are only 17.7 inches on the outside, so length is the first spec to check. The second is how the bag hangs courtside. Only three of the six slings here list a fence hook or carabiner, and none of them lists a shoe compartment.

We compared the sling and crossbody bags sold by eight pickleball brands on their own stores, checked every price and spec list on November 4, 2026, and ranked six of them on four things: how many paddles the maker says fit, the bag’s length against a full-size paddle, how it hangs at the court, and the pockets for a bottle, a phone and balls. With 24.3 million Americans playing pickleball in 2025, according to the SFIA’s 2026 Single Sport Report, most paddle brands now sell a sling, but their spec lists vary a lot. If you carry shoes or more than two paddles, our best pickleball bag and best pickleball backpack guides are the better place to start.

1. JOOLA Everyday Sling Bag — Best Overall

JOOLA Everyday Sling Bag

Best overall · $44.95
  • Room for two paddles and "plenty of pickleballs," according to JOOLA.
  • Dedicated water bottle pocket and a hideaway carabiner to hang the bag courtside.
  • 17.7 x 11.8 x 5.5 inches; black or Gravity Gray, both in stock on November 4.
  • Listed on joola.com since November 2025 as part of JOOLA's Everyday line.

The Everyday Sling gets the basics of a pickleball sling right: two paddles, balls, a bottle and a way to get the bag off the ground. The hideaway carabiner is the detail that separates it from the cheaper slings, because a bag hanging on the fence stays out of puddles and out of the way of the next group’s warm-up. At 17.7 inches long it is cut for full-size paddles, though the margin over a 16.5-inch elongated paddle is only about an inch on the outside, so very long paddles with a thick edge guard may be a snug fit. JOOLA’s spec list is short: it gives no weight, no material and no pocket count beyond the bottle pocket, which is the main thing to know before you buy. JOOLA also sells a smaller Everyday Belt Bag ($37.95) in four colors for players who only carry a phone and keys, but it is not a paddle bag.

2. CRBN Pro Sling Bag — Most Storage

CRBN Pro Sling Bag

Most storage · $59.99
  • Thermal-lined main compartment for paddles, plus thermal-lined expandable side pockets for a drink and balls.
  • Fits "multiple paddles," a couple of balls and up to a 14-inch MacBook, per CRBN.
  • Coated metal fence hook that tucks into its own pouch; clips on both sides so you can wear it on either shoulder.
  • 20 x 11 x 5.5 inches, 1 lb 15 oz, water-resistant shell and YKK zippers; black or light gray.

The CRBN Pro Sling is the sling for players who would otherwise carry a small backpack. It is the only bag in this guide with a thermal lining, and CRBN uses it twice: in the main compartment, which CRBN says protects paddles from overheating, and in the side pockets, one for a cold drink and one for balls. That matters more than it sounds in summer, because paddle adhesives start to soften above about 140°F, as our paddle care guide explains; a lining is still no excuse to leave the bag in a hot car. The other standout details are the fence hook that hides in a pouch and the clips on both sides, which let left- and right-shoulder carriers swap the strap. At 20 inches it is the longest sling here with the Onix, so any legal paddle fits, and the laptop space makes it the one sling that doubles as a commuter bag. The trade-offs are the $59.99 price, the highest here, and a weight of nearly 2 pounds empty.

3. Selkirk Core Line Pickleball Sling Bag — Best for One Paddle

Selkirk Core Line Pickleball Sling Bag

Best for one paddle · $40
  • Padded paddle pocket that fits one paddle and a ball, according to Selkirk.
  • Water bottle pocket for up to a 24 oz bottle, a back mesh pocket, a front zip pocket and an inside pocket for wallet and keys.
  • Lightly padded strap that unzips to convert the sling into a backpack.
  • 17.72 x 7.87 x 2.76 inches; seven colors listed, four in stock on November 4 (Forest Green, Black, Red, Canyon Clay).

Selkirk’s sling is the slimmest bag here at 2.76 inches deep, and it is honest about it: Selkirk says one paddle and a ball, not two. For a player who brings a single paddle to open play, that is all you need, and the organization is better thought out than on most slings, with a separate padded paddle pocket, a 24 oz bottle pocket and a hidden pocket for valuables. The convertible strap is the unique feature in this group; unzip it and the sling becomes a small backpack for the walk or ride to the court. It is also the best-reviewed sling we found on a maker’s own store, at 4.3 out of 5 stars from 111 reviews on selkirk.com. What it lacks is a fence hook; Selkirk only mentions an easy-grab handle for hanging the bag, so you need a hook or a bench. Three of its seven colors (Gray, Mauve and Tan) were sold out on November 4.

4. Franklin Pickleball Sling Bag — Best Budget With a Fence Hook

Franklin Pickleball Sling Bag

Best budget with a fence hook · from $24.99
  • Fence hook, adjustable strap and a felt-lined soft pocket for a phone.
  • Room for a sports bottle; holds up to six balls, according to Franklin's feature list.
  • Franklin calls it the official bag of the US Open.
  • Regular price $37.99, from $24.99 by color on franklinsports.com on November 4; 4.5 out of 5 stars from 28 reviews there.

Franklin’s sling is the cheapest bag here that still lists a fence hook, which makes it the value pick for most rec players. The felt-lined phone pocket is a thoughtful touch for anyone who has scratched a screen against a paddle face, and the reviews on Franklin’s own store are strong at 4.5 out of 5 from 28 ratings. Be careful with one claim, though: Franklin’s product copy says the bag “can hold 6 paddles securely,” while its bullet list only promises six balls, and Franklin publishes no dimensions on the page. A sling that holds six paddles would be the size of a backpack, so plan on the usual one or two. The price depends on the color you pick, so check the variant before you check out.

5. Onix Pro Team Pickleball Sling Bag — Best Padded Paddle Compartment

Onix Pro Team Pickleball Sling Bag

Best padded paddle compartment · $49.99
  • Three zippered pockets, including a padded paddle compartment.
  • Small accessories pocket for jewelry, keys or a watch, and an outer water bottle pocket.
  • Top carry handle plus a padded single strap.
  • 20 x 13.5 x 7 inches, durable polyester; orange or pink, both in stock on November 4.

The Onix Pro Team Sling ties with the GAMMA as the biggest bag in this guide by listed dimensions, at 20 by 13.5 by 7 inches, and its padded paddle compartment is the main reason to choose it over the GAMMA, which costs $30 less. The extra depth also leaves room for a towel or a light layer, which the slim Selkirk does not. Onix lists a top handle and a padded strap but no fence hook, and it describes a single padded paddle compartment (“to keep your paddle safe”) rather than a two-paddle pocket. Onix’s own copy also calls the bag a “backpack” in one sentence, which tells you it sits at the large end of the sling category. Only two colors were listed on November 4, both bright.

6. GAMMA Pickleball Sling Bag — Cheapest

GAMMA Pickleball Sling Bag

Cheapest · $19.99
  • Holds two paddles and six balls plus small accessories, according to GAMMA.
  • Three zippered pockets, a water bottle pocket and a padded adjustable shoulder strap.
  • 18 x 15 x 7 inches overall; the front pocket is 10.5 x 6 x 2 inches; 100% polyester.
  • $19.99 on gammasports.com on November 4, against a $34.99 compare-at price (43% off); one black, white and gray colorway.

At $19.99, the GAMMA sling costs less than half of the JOOLA and a third of the CRBN, and on paper it carries as much as the JOOLA: two paddles, six balls and a bottle. The 18-inch length clears any legal paddle, and the 7-inch depth gives more room than the Selkirk. The weak spots are the ones you would expect at this price. GAMMA lists no fence hook, and the product has only three reviews on GAMMA’s site, one of which says the reviewer’s paddle did not slide easily in and out of the paddle compartment. If you play with a thick 16mm paddle in a bulky cover, that review is worth taking seriously; if you want a cheap second bag for the car, the GAMMA is hard to beat.

Will your paddle fit? Sling length vs. paddle length

Paddle lengths below are typical figures; USA Pickleball allows up to 17 inches. Bag sizes are the outside dimensions the makers list, so the paddle pocket itself is a little smaller.

The rule of thumb: if the outside of the bag is less than an inch longer than your paddle, expect a snug fit with a cover on. Our elongated paddle guide lists the 16.5-inch models, and the paddle size chart explains the 17-inch and 24-inch combined limits.

A sling makes sense when you arrive in your court shoes and bring one or two paddles. Once shoes, a change of clothes or a third paddle come along, the single strap becomes the weak point, and a pickleball backpack spreads the load better. How to choose a pickleball sling bag

The bottom line

The JOOLA Everyday Sling Bag ($44.95) is the best pickleball sling bag for most players: two paddles, a bottle pocket, a hideaway carabiner and a length that clears full-size paddles. Pay $59.99 for the CRBN Pro Sling Bag if you want the most room, a thermal-lined paddle compartment and a fence hook, or $40 for the Selkirk Core Line Sling if you carry one paddle and like the backpack conversion. On a budget, Franklin’s sling (from $24.99) is the cheapest with a fence hook and the GAMMA ($19.99) is the cheapest overall. Whatever you buy, compare the bag’s length with your paddle before you order, and go to a backpack once shoes join the kit. Still choosing the paddle that goes in it?
